* Regarding the case that occurred at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company, Major General Nguyen Van Thanh said that up to now, the Investigating Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has prosecuted the case; prosecuted and detained 26 defendants for investigation of 05 crimes: Violation of accounting regulations causing serious consequences; Violations of regulations on bidding causing serious consequences; Accepting bribes; Taking advantage of influence on people with positions and powers to seek profits; Abusing positions and powers while performing official duties, occurred at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company, Thang Long Real Estate and Trade Investment Joint Stock Company, Vinh Phuc province, Quang Ngai province, Vinh Long province, Phu Tho province and related units.

This is a very complicated case, involving many localities, the volume of objects and documents to be collected is relatively large. The investigating agency is continuing to clarify a number of violations of the defendants and related subjects and continue to expand the investigation and prosecution of other relevant subjects according to regulations, focusing on recovering lost property of the State.

* Regarding the case that occurred at Thuan An Group, the Investigating Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security prosecuted the case; Up to now, 08 defendants have been prosecuted and detained for investigation of 05 crimes: Violation of regulations on bidding causing serious consequences; Giving bribes; Accepting bribes; Abusing their positions and powers to influence others for profit; Abusing their positions and powers while performing official duties.

Currently, the Investigation Agency continues to consolidate documents and evidence, expand the investigation of cases in localities related to projects of Thuan An Group, thoroughly recover and handle in accordance with the law, recover lost and appropriated assets.

* Regarding the violations of individuals and organizations involved in the case that occurred at the super project in Dai Ninh, Lam Dong, Major General Nguyen Van Thanh emphasized that a number of officials of the Government Inspectorate, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the Government Office and related individuals have intervened, changing the investment decision of the Saigon – Dai Ninh project.

The Investigating Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has prosecuted the case, so far it has prosecuted 08 defendants for the following crimes: Giving bribes, Accepting bribes and Abusing positions and powers while performing official duties.

Currently, the Investigative Agency of the Ministry of Public Security continues to expand the investigation of the case, review and relevant subjects to handle in accordance with the law.

* Regarding the case that occurred at Van Thinh Phat Group, Major General Nguyen Van Thanh said that the Investigation Agency has prosecuted 02 cases related to violations in banking activities and cases related to violations of bonds, money laundering and illegal transportation of currency across the border.

For phase 1 of the case, the Investigation Agency has made an investigation conclusion and has been brought to trial in the first instance, and is awaiting appellate trial in the near future.

Regarding the second case related to Van Thinh Phat Group, related to fraud and money laundering, the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City is currently accepting and adjudicating the first instance of the case.

The investigating agency will continue to consolidate the dossier, further clarify the wrongdoing of the subjects if requested by the Court; in case of not being requested by the Court, the Investigation Agency will end the investigation of this case.

* In addition, answering questions from the press about the explanation of the reasons why the rate of corruption crimes detected tended to increase over the same period, Major General Nguyen Van Thanh affirmed that, under the close attention and direction of the Party and State, over the past time, the fight against corruption crimes, economy and positions have been effectively implemented with many outstanding results, which have been agreed, supported and appreciated by the people, and at the same time emphasized that the situation of corruption crimes generally tends to decrease, the rate of increase over the same period only shows the number of cases detected, handled in a timeline, does not show the upward trend of this type of crime.
